With over 35 years of experience in veterinary medicine, Dr. Michelle Merwin has owned two practices in North Dakota. The first was a mixed animal practice that served cattle, horses, dogs, and cats. The second focused on companion animals, including exotics. Her journey has allowed her to work with a wide variety of species and people, and she is grateful for every lesson along the way. She has a strong passion for surgery and critical care and enjoys solving complex medical cases. Raised on a cattle ranch in southwestern North Dakota, she discovered early in life that caring for animals was her purpose, and that passion has never wavered.
In her free time, she loves gardening, hiking, and spending time outdoors. She also enjoys working with stained glass. She is the mother of four and grandmother of three and now shares her home with two orange cats—Finn and Duncan, a three-legged kitten who quickly became part of the family.
